Weavers can be anything you wish-mix the dyed with any sizes of natural reed.

Blue sample used:

1/4" flat natural
5/8" flat dyed

Purple sample used:

1/4" flat natural
5/8" flat natural and dyed

Lay out a base that is 11 spokes by 9 spokes in a simple over/under weave. Adjust base to measure 11"x10". Weave one "keeper" row with 1/4" flat reed. Miter at the corners. Upsett the spokes.

Anything can be used to weave up the sides. This may be a great place to use your scrap pieces. As you weave up the sides, check often to make sure that the handle will fit the basket.

Cut and tuck all spokes.
Shave ends of handles and insert them into basket. You just need to put the tips under a few rows of weaving. Fit the rims and sea grass. Lash with cane.
